Dear RRR Network Member,

Happy New Year Everyone

As I get older this phrase takes on greater significance. Yes, it is still a reason to go out to celebrate New Year's Eve, but now as I age (hopefully not too gracefully) I find myself reflecting on the year passing: not just the wonderful events and occurrences but also the personal losses and sadness. I contemplate the wider community's trials and tragedies and how we overcome them.  As always I am in awe of the strength that communities show when faced with adversity and continue to be proud to stand up and say I am an Australian.

2012 the year of the Dragon; what will it bring, I wonder. My wish for you all is that you wake up every day with a smile on your face and something positive to look forward to. For myself I want my daughters, my family and all the important people in my life to be safe, to be happy and to do whatever it is that lights them up from within. Stating the proverbial ‘’beauty queen’’ statement of wanting world peace is a bit of a cliche, however it is what we continue to strive for.

The RRR Network is here to share stories. So I would like to share something that my grandmother used to say to me: 'Every life is a story. Make yours a best seller.'
