RRR Network Charter

To bring together women from rural, remote and regional Western Australia to recognise, promote and expand the contribution they make to their communities.

Objectives:

  • To provide a mechanism for rural, remote and regional women and rural women's organisations and individuals to link with each other to disseminate and share information relevant to the development of rural and regional communities.
  • To provide rural, remote and regional women with easy access to government information and programs relevant to regional development and agriculture.
  • To provide government agencies and other service providers with information on education and training needs for rural, remote and regional women.
  • To provide a resource for government departments, industry associations, decision-making bodies and local authorities to access rural, remote and regional women.
  • To provide a link between organisations for the exchange of information and the cooperative development of programs relevant to rural, remote and regional women.

RRR Network's Expected Outcomes:

  • An increase in the participation of women in regional matters.
  • A greater involvement by women in decision-making forums.
  • A greater awareness by rural, remote and regional women of the value of their contribution to their communities.

Our Mission

To bring together and create opportunities for women and their families from rural, remote and regional Western Australia to recognise, promote and expand the contribution they make to their communities supported by a network of shared interests, information and resources.

Key Goal Areas:

  • Ensure that all RRR women, regardless of race, culture and vocation, have access and contribute to information and resources provided through the RRR Network.
  • Link individual women and women's groups into the RRR Network to share information, skills and resources to build capacity of women and enhance their contribution.
  • Raise the profile of women and showcase their strengths and achievements through the RRR Network.
  • Encourage and facilitate the sharing of information with key decision makers by providing a forum for issues and opportunities affecting RRR women, their families and communities
  • Provide a two-way link between government and rural women on the development of policy and effective program delivery that reflects the needs of women, their families and communities
  • Provide a non-sectarian and non-party political forum for RRR women.

Guidelines

Membership of RRR Network is free. Anyone can become a member by subscribing to RRR Network News magazine or the RRR e-News.

The RRR Network exists:

  • To provide government agencies and other service providers with information on education and training needs for rural, remote and regional women.
  • To provide resource for government departments, industry associations, decision making bodies and local authorities to access rural, remote and regional women.
  • To provide a link between organisations for the exchange of information and the cooperative development of programs relevant to rural, remote and regional women.
  • For women to link with each other to disseminate and share information relevant to the development of rural and regional communities.
  • To provide relevant and user friendly services to RRR women.
  • To produce a quarterly magazine Network News.
  • To collaborate with other leading women's organisations such as CWA, NCW, AWIA and rural women's networks in other States and establish and maintain effective communication with interested groups and individuals within the community.
  • To encourage and assist recognition of the individuality and achievements of women.
  • To raise awareness within the community of the situation of women and their varied and changing roles and aspirations.
