In 2012, the Rural Regional Remote Women's Network (RRR) invited community groups, individuals and organisations to host or attend an inaugural RRR Satellite Sundowner event in their local community to celebrate International Day of Rural Women.
Established in 1995 and recognised by the United Nations, International Day of Rural Women honours the importance of rural, remote and regional women.
The RRR Satellite Sundowner is a series of events to be held simultaneously across Western Australia to celebrate and connect rural, remote and regional women.
A video, showcasing a diverse group of rural, regional and remote women talking about each year's theme, will be played at the beginning of each event.
Get involved. Host an event in your home or community. Have a small get together with some friends at home or host a community event at a local venue. Involve your local Community Resource Centre.
Most importantly, celebrate what is great about living in rural regional and remote Western Australia.
